Hardware Software Demo From LectureMaker’s Studio

Ron Fredericks writes: LectureMaker’s Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony coming up next week, so I thought it was high time to show my clients and prospects just what a person can do in a LectureMaker studio in under one hour.

The demo shows you how to build a light weight hard disk storage device for portable transport of 640 Gigabytes of digital data. Unlike most of the portable hard drive vendors – I show you exactly how to assemble, partition, and format the drive using Windows 7 or Vista. I will post a Mac version too if there is any interest.

This video uses some techniques I have created to demonstrate both hardware and software. This type of video is a case study for many of the Silicon Valley high-tech firms who need to quickly and accurately demonstrate their products to users, partners, sales teams, and tech support engineers to name just a few….

You can order the same parts I used during the demo if you would like to follow along and build this “640 Gigabyte Memory Stick”.

Largest and fastest disk that fits in a really small enclosure like Acomdata’s Tango box Red cable to match red box Acomdata enclosure: smallest I could find with both USB and eSATA interfaces

Use Screencasting In Your Next Lecture

Ron Fredericks writes: Screencasting is an easy way to document your activities on a computer. Its a digital recording of computer screen output, opten containing audio narration.

During a recent poll, I found very few  people were aware of  screencasting . Watch my online lecture on the subject to learn how to:

  • Express your ideas as a screencast on the web,
  • Embed them within documentation instead of screenshots mixed with tedious explanations, or
  • Use them as visual aids to enhance your next public lecture, as I have done here.
